EV Charging in light poles with Zaptec Technology

The new smart light poles that Lyse reveals at Nordic Edge Expo 2018 contains EV charging technology from Zaptec. Using Zaptec’s unique load and phase balancing, the light poles can be installed in streets where it is difficult to establish infrastructure for electric vehicle charging.

“For Lyse, it was natural to collaborate with Zaptec on this project, we are interested in supporting local business and when there is world-leading technology in our neighbourhood, it’s natural that we work together with them,” says Trond ThorbjÃļrnsen, business developer in Lyse.

EV charging in light poles have been a hot topic for a long time and the collaboration that started with Lyse this year has been an exciting opportunity for further development. The project has attracted attention from several potential customers and can already be experienced around the center of Stavanger city. At Nordic Edge Expo, the light poles are part of the Smart city safari where participants can sign up to see a see a variety of smart solutions. EV charging using the light pole is can be seen at Strandkaien, Skur 6, Stavanger.
